Now Paul is set to play the part of McKeough, a local builder who becomes the confidante of a young girl whose affair with her lecturer has disastrous consequences.
The chilling trailer shows Ophelia (played by Emily Reid) in an illicit relationship with a Dr Michael Callaghan – who is portrayed by former Hollyoaks star Emmett J Scanlan.
When the lecturer’s wife (Catherine Walker) dies in a house fire, Ophelia’s sanity is questioned as she believes her love rival is still alive.
To top things off, Ophelia suspects that she is pregnant with Michael’s baby.

Fans of Derry Girls will also recognise Ian McElhinney in the role of Michael’s father, who is suffering from dementia, while his mother is played by Eleanor Methven.
The broadcast date is still to be confirmed but could be as early as next month.
Meanwhile the stars of Normal People have admitted they’re yet to celebrate the show’s success together due to lockdown restrictions.

Daisy and Paul, who play Marianne and Connell, became instant celebrities with their social media followers skyrocketing and even a fan account created for Connell’s neck chain.
However, despite taking part in a host of interviews, sketch performances and photoshoots, the two friends are yet to properly celebrate the show’s triumph face to face due to coronavirus restrictions.
